I have worked professionally on many boat types for the past 20 years, from work boats to super yachts, both sailing and power. Being a captain on super yachts allowed me to explore the Adriatic, Mediterranean, East coast of the USA, and the Caribbean. Refit work is a speciality as I am a fully qualified boat builder, when working in the Adriatic I held a unique position where I was captain on a vessel whos owner also owned a shipyard, during that time I consulted on various refits on large wooden yachts along with a major refit on the owners yacht. with commercial endorsement on both sail and power and STCW qualified. for the past 10 years I have been owner skipper of my own charter boat a 22metre ex BT challnge67 sailing on the west coast of Scotland, Faroe islands,Rockall. I have also been working with the local education authority delivering traditional boat building courses to young people from the age of 14 to 17 years.
