Experienced offshore crew trying to get back to my yacht in Fiji as soon as possible. Restrictions are lifting slowly..
Hi there,
I hope someone can help me out here.
I've been caught in the pandemic madness as I was preparing to return from British Columbia, Canada to my yacht in Fiji. She is in the water and needs my love and attention as she is an old family vessel.
Fiji has just announced that they are lifting border restrictions somewhat for yachts to enter. My hope is to find passage from anywhere I can get to onward to Fiji as soon as is possible. French Polynesia, possibly Hawaii and even starting from California would be great.
I have extensive offshore experience, including Canada to Fiji and beyond, I’m easy going, don’t get seasick and can steer a straight course. I can even cook in the worst weather! I will provide references from former skippers, if needed.
I understand this could be a very complicated time but my boat needs me and the option of waiting until next year for flights is so far away.
I would appreciate any assistance possible, be it offers for passage or passing this along to someone else going my way.
Thanks so much for reading. Fingers crossed I can find something!
