I've owned and skippered a 29 foot sailboat for the past 8 years. I've done some refit and underway jury rigging, always managing functional, if not pretty results. All my sailing has been in the San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands, totaling about 120 days for USCG purposes.
I'm continuing my sailing education whenever I can (Nauticed.org for on-line theory and the local sailing school for practical.) I've recently finished the Captain Rank bundle of courses and an Introductory Celestial Navigation course (very basic -- finished it in about half a day.)
I'm a very experienced diver, with dive master, rescue/first aid, and O2 training.
I'm adequate as a cook. Not creative. Best at breakfast and on the BBQ. I do a few signature dishes really well, and my wife is always on me to expand my comfort zone.
I can do meet and greets with very little notice anywhere from Tacoma to Vancouver BC, further away with some notice. Also, I can do day sails in Bellingham any time the weather is acceptable. I work nights in 8 day stretches and have 6 days for my weekends, so you might find me available for longer outings.
I'm looking to build my experience in all aspects of sailing: racing, rough weather, night and offshore passages; anything from hours at a time to weeks.
I still work for a living, so I need fair warning for longer passages -- usually at least a couple months of fair warning.
