Charlie Sturrock, Skipper for 20-30m yachts MCA Master 200
I am a highly experienced, professional Yachtsman, MCA Master 200, RYA/MCA YM Ocean for Power and Sail as well as a RYA Instructor for Power and Sail with an Engineering and Military background. I have been sailing in various forms since childhood and have been working full-time in the Yachting industry for Sea Schools, Delivery Companies, charter organisations/yachts and on private yachts since early 2010. I have worked on yachts in the 18 – 35m range, including time in dual Deck and Engineering roles as well as experience on MYs and large Catamarans. A significant amount of the last five years has been charter work. I have also worked on the commissioning of 3 new yachts and one out of a major refit so am experienced with new builds.
Physically fit with a friendly outgoing personality and youthful outlook, approaching all tasks with energy and enthusiasm. I have very good leadership, management and communication/people skills from civilian industry management background and now plenty of work in the yachting industry, not just the military! I am able to work as part of a team or manage one and can work as an individual when required. Not afraid of hard work, responsibility or making decisions, I enjoy a challenge, travel off the beaten track and water sports. I finally took up diving in 2013 and as a keen windsurfer the next aim is kite surfing!
Currently working as the Skipper for a private CNB with one other crew, but always keen to consider a new challenge as Capt/Eng or just Eng.
