Looking for a Needle in a Haystack!
Hello out there.....
Currently in New York and looking to sail in Temperate Climates (not Tropical) with a Patient, Knowledgeable, Kind Captain with a Safe Boat who enjoys teaching since I am still a novice. I grew up lake sailing in the US as a camp counselor in Vermont. During my Jr. year of college in Barcelona, I lived and sailed on a 25 ft. wooden sailboat in the Spanish Mediterranean with French Hippies - an incredible time! I got a wonderful taste of being part of an international sailing community, and had some amazing experiences. Since then I have lived and worked on various sailboats in the US and Fiji. I've led a rather "off the beaten path" kind of life, and am excited about the new adventures awaiting me! I'm a keen maritime student, Responsible, Playful, Humorous, Expressive, Creative and Super Organized. I treat others as I would like to be treated - with Friendliness and Respect. I speak my mind, follow my heart and am always trying to find ways to make life more expansive, fulfilling and fun! I'm a bit of a Bohemian (raised as an artsy child of the 60's & 70's), a bit glam (Mom was a singer in B'way musicals), with a touch of the tomboy (volunteered for a month at a remote Dog Sledding camp in Alaska & helped care for 56 Sled Dogs.) I can be quite social (but love "quiet time"), a creative cook & excellent provisioner (enjoy drinking wine and the occasional cocktail), speak Spanish, some French/Italian, adore nature & animals, swimming in the ocean/playing in the surf, foreign languages & cultures, eclectic music & art (was a film major & have worked in the biz), comedy (raised on Monty Python), and exploring the magickal mysteries of the universe (a life-long student of metaphysics.) The through-line in my life has been teaching English internationally in Spain, South Korea, Jordan, Argentina, Italy & Russia. Ideally, I am looking for a long-term live aboard situation. Thanks for reading!
