Looking to crew around Australian East Coast/Whitsundays!
I am 30 years old, and currently based in Australia on a working holiday visa. I am trained as a medical doctor, have my advanced scuba diving and free diving certificates, and generally just love anything to do with the water. Currently in Northern Rivers area, but looking to head up the east coast by next month and would love to do some sailing!
Boat experience includes 6 months working on a riverboat in Melbourne as a deckhand on day charters, and crewing on a 12 meter yawl sailing around the Greek islands where my responsibilities included taking care of sails, tying lines and fenders when docking, tidying them up when leaving port, and cleaning the deck and cabin.
After having done my basic medical training back home and spending a few years working in the medical field I have headed to Australia with the intention to travel around for some time, and then hopefully continue my specialisation training here.
I joined FindACrew a few years ago after just having finished university studying medicine and surgery. Before starting work at the hospital, I took some time to work and travel around Europe and that is when I first spent some time sailing.
My experience is still limited, but I am eager to learn from someone who is willing to teach me the ropes - literally, and to be involved in all aspects of life and work on the sea.

I like to be outside when it’s possible - in the sun, by the sea, somewhere green. Anywhere with good company and good music. I am endlessly interested in science, nature, and space. My free time I spend exploring, learning, moving, reading, dancing, laughing. I would say that I am an optimist, and that I am pretty easy going - it takes a lot to get me stressed out. I’m definitely not a perfectionist but when I do something I like to make sure that I do it well.

I want to learn how as much as possible about sailing - the terminology, the right way to tie ropes and to anchor, how to be a safe and competent member of the crew. I know that sailing can be a beautiful and very rewarding past time, albeit challenging and at times pushing you to your limits, and I would love for it to become a part of my life.
