Hello. For sure you know that some boats do not legally need an engineer onboard. So, they are managed by captains with not enough technical knowledges. And out there, it is not easy to find a spare part or a good mechanic. On most of the cases, sooner or later, depending only on good or bad luck, those boat finishes with main components extreme malfunctions (engines, gearboxes, generators) detected when it is cheaper to change the complete system (allways several thousands €) than trying to repair it, or they only will receive another "for the next few months" expensive bad repair. And normally this happens exactly when you need her . And do not forget about rusted or "just for now" forgotten electrical connections that will make the instruments, lights and even the toilets, work when they want, deppending on the climate . I saw this several times, and was called to arrange it. Because as Master 200 GT and engine driver up to 750 kw, am allowed to act on dual function (captain and engineer) on commercial and private sail and motor yachts. So, maybe I could be your solution.
