Looking for crew opportunities in Jan/Feb in The Americas - Experienced & Positive Minded!!!
Hello!
A bit about me....I am a 42 year old guy who has spent his adult life split between North and South America, Asia, and Europe, Barcelona has been home(base) for the last 8 years. I have spent my entire adult life traveling the world. I consider myself an environmentalist and also believe in social justice and equality. I love to enjoy life but always try and make ethical life decisions. You could say I am "Ethically Hedonistic" ;)
I spend a lot of time in nature, camping, hiking, sleeping under the stars. I have lived a pretty nonconventional adventurous life, I rode a 40 year old vintage motorcycle all through India and Nepal and then all the way from New Delhi to Barcelona. Lived in an old VW bus I bought in Sao Paolo and drove to the Amazon. Traveled through Indonesia, Philippines, Mongolia, and Western China and parts of Central America by motorcycle. Kayaked 1000km of a remote river in Siberia, etc. etc..... Plenty more stories to tell like these but you get the idea....happy vagabond :)
I speak English, Spanish, and passable Portuguese. I don't smoke. Very positive minded/optimistic personality. I get along with pretty much everyone (I've lived, worked, and co-habitated with people from dozens of countries on 4 continents).
Regarding my sailing experience, I started getting into sailing 4 years ago, took a one week class to get some foundational knowledge and started jumping on boats here and there in the Mediterranean where I live to gain some experience. Then I managed to hitchhike across the Atlantic which was a great experience and in years after continued doing small trips and crossings in The Med. But I realized I would not really feel competent unless I threw myself into the deep end so to speak, so last year I bought an old 8.5m boat in Florida for $7000 and sailed it to The Bahamas, cruised around there a bit until it was time to sell it and return home to Spain. Captaining my own boat was a great and humbling experience! All told I have probably done around 6,000nm at sea. Most of that crewing but some was when I was captaining that little boat in Florida/Bahamas.
Maybe the best way to learn more about me and read some references is just to check out my couchsurfing profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jordan_j
I share all this here because it's important for me to have a good connection with the captain and crew of any boat I might join; similar interests and life experience for example, but at least similar values and an easy going and respectful demeanor. So if you think I might be a good fit on your boat please do let me know why. Thanks!

Looking forward to hear from you!

Very great man, honest and reliable. we took great pleasure in having Jordan onboard, with his possitive attitude we enjoy listenig to stories from his extended travel repertoar. He is a good cooker and doesnt get seasick. Even when in rough seas he is happy to take the rudder. I can recomend Jordan to any worldsailing oppurtunities.
