Australian seeking deckhand / delivery position!
Hola!! I'm Carolina, 27-year-old deckie, seeking employment/ build sailing hours where I can apply my maritime, hospitality, and customer service skills to a role at sea. Ideally looking to help with sailboat deliveries in Australia and south pacific.
I have a few seasons super yacht experience in the Caribbean, working as a deckhand/stewardess on a private 44ft/14m Lafitte 44 cutter rig monohull. We sailed from Tarpon Springs, Florida, down to Key West, across to Miami and through to Bimini, Nassau, Eleuthera, and the Exumas. I then joined a 50ft/15m Knysna 500se catamaran as a sole deckhand/stewardess with liveaboard owners. I also just completed a temporary one month contract on a 30m motor yacht as a deckhand / stewardess, where I assisted in mooring, anchoring, water sport activities and deck washdowns, as well as ships laundry and assisting in the galley. I have just finished working the whale watching season in Hervey Bay on a sailing catamaran.
I'm an excellent asset to any crew: I'm self-motivated, vibrant and creative. I'm a quick learner, and a former criminologist - so I have a keen sense for detail and am an amazing problem solver. I'm keen to learn as much as I can from experienced skippers and crew!
I'm an Australian passport holder with a Schengen visa. I speak both English and Spanish.
I am currently in Hervey Bay, Australia. Keen to go basically anywhere
I'm an avid snorkeler and scuba diver, and have experience working in scuba centres in the Galapagos Islands and Caribbean as well as our own great barrier reef out of Lady Musgrave Island. I love discovering new foods, true crime books and podcasts, and watercolour painting. Favourite way to spend off-time aboard: watch for turtles.
