Looking for crew positions
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position on any type of vessel.
About me a little bit. My name is Balázs Szabó . I’m 23 years old, from Hungary. I finished in the Hungarian maritime school in 2020 and immediately started working on inland river vessels. I worked on a pusher cargo vessel with 5 barges LOA 245 meters and 8000-10.000 tons of cargo. I started there after school as a deckhand , then became sailor and then bosun/helmsman .
After 2 years I joined a cruise ship in Northern Europe rivers as bosun on a 135m cruise ship with 155 passengers. I had a deck team of 5 plus myself. From there I joined a 180m pusher cargo ship as bosun/helmsman to learn and have experience to become a captain.
In the meantime in 2020 I did my rya yacht master “A” up to 100gt and a GMDSS vhf operator. I worked on private sailboats as a bare skipper. And also on my own sailboat. I joined as crew on 2 regattas. And did also 2 regattas as skipper on 41-50 foot regattas in Croatia.
After that I took a break from shipping/yachting and moved to Sweden where I worke as a truck driver until now . But I would like to get back to the yachting industry.
I also hold a Padi advanced diver certification with additional certification of
- deep diver
-wreck diver
- nitrox diver
- self rescue diver
I’m ambitious and keen to learn and want to step up my career in any professional yachting position
