Looking to Crew, Connect, Cruise, Work, SAIL, Play, Deckhand, Laugh Cook/Stew
Hi - after just completing my first major Crew-ing 1000 NM down Baja on a 1976 Erikson 36C over a course of a month, I'm really stoked to continue on. I like the way of life, the sea, the way one can watch the sky change colours for hours, meeting people along the way, and of course, the Sailing. I'm also fascinated/interested in connection and getting in rhythm with a Captain and the sea. I can, and will, cook, clean, laugh, speak English, Spanish, and converse in French. I'm familiar with the ways of the boat. I can help with mooring, docking, raising sails, manning the helm etc. I still have SO much to learn though and I'm stoked to have the opportunity to do so aboard a seaworthy vessel.
I'm easygoing, don't get sea sick--at least I never have --and I enjoy both the solitude sailing employs as well as connecting with new like-minded people. I know a couple jokes, can juggle oranges, hold a conversation, and also give/take personal space as needed. I'm self aware, a strong swimmer, and humble (ha!). I find it challenging to write these profiles---let's talk, meet, and see if we vibe/connect--if so--let's cruise!
In addition to the Baja sailing, I've done a few sailing trips in the BVI (where I was the Chef) and have done many-a day sail trips in Belize. I've worked overseas for 15 years so pretty adaptable to new people/environments. The relationship with nature and the ocean is incredible out there on the water...the sea calls.
I'm hoping to crew anytime. Preferably in Mexico, but down for anywhere.
Happy Sailing and hope to hear from you soon!
Cheers,
Carly!
gratitude is my attitude. : )
