Delivery Crew or Competent Crew - sailing ships

Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Delivery Crew, Competent Crew or 1st mate

I have done ca +50.000 nm ( including 4 Atlantic crossings) onboard various ships/boats.

The majority of my sailing experience, as well as my first, has been onboard the Danish tall ship DANMARK as an english teacher, quartermaster and bosun. On top 6 voyages Ivee been a part of endless rigging work periodes before and after a voyage. Onboard this ship has taken me on 3 Atlantic crossing, several destinations in US, Azores, Åland Islands, Skt. Petersburg Russia, Estonia, Ireland, Spain, Portugal.

TS DANMARK is a government ship educating 80 trainees in the age 17-23. I was a trainee myself back in 2003 and in 2007 I returned as crew and stayed on until 2011. One of the best jobs in the world is onboard this ship. I absolutely loved it. The sailing as well as teaching became a key factor in my sailing jobs to come.

In between voyages onboard T/S DANMARK I lived in London and attended art school, Camberwell College of Arts, where I undertook an BA in Sculpture which I finished in 2011. Afterwards I carried on working in the prop making industry. I lived in London for 8 years in total.

In 2012 I went to the Caribbean to sign on a wooden social paedagogical, juvenile center boat.
Sailing in the Caribbean was a goal I had set to do before my 30th and I arrived one month before my birthday.
Between 2012 - 2019 the Danish company I worked for, Den Maritime Base, had a 80ft schooner, Sagitta and 2 ketches, Vendia and Poseidon. Vendia is built in 1943 in Denmark and is a converted 22 meter hajkutter, fishing vessel. Poseidon, built in Denmark in the 50ties is a converted 20 meter North Sea trawler and Sagitta is a wooden classic built in the 1980ties.
I have worked onboard all 3 of them for the 7 years I worked for Den Maritime Base , during which of the last 3 years I was responsible for haul outs and overall maintenance of the 80 ft schooner, Sagitta.
The job had many facets since I acted as a social worker, teacher, 1st mate and bosun. Not all at the same time of course but onboard smaller boats you have to be able to "change cap" quite often.
I love the work with the teenagers, the programme we were running and wooden boats. One day I want to be the proud owner of a wooden boat. I love old wooden classics. And not afraid of the work that goes along with it.

The tall ship as well as the wooden boats gave me a lot of experience with old time rigging skills and practical seamanship in general. Work which I really love doing.

Since 2014 I have lived onboard my own fiberglass sloop, solo sailing, a VIVA 48, an italian built racer/cruiser. Owning my own boat has fine tuned a lot of skills in fiberglass maintenance, diesel mechanics, electronic and so forth. All learning by doing.
Based in the Caribbean since 2012, I have started to know the southern Caribbean like the back of my hand.

This is just the bigger chunks of my sailing career. Then there is endless miles in small boats 23 - 31 footer with friends going around Scandinavia or cruising from Canaries to Cabo Verde which Im not going to mention here or in my list of achieved nautical miles. Just mucking about...

Ideally I would love to crew on a boat sailing in the polar regions. A dream that hasnt been fulfilled as yet...

Thanks for reading.
All best
Annette
