Astronomer Looking for a Crew, race crew position
Note: I am committed to an Atlantic crossing this June/July for which I have been given weather routing and navigation responsibility. I will be available to sail from September 2025.

NASA Astronomer and well-seasoned racing deck-hand sailing out of Annapolis. Looking for more experience with ocean sailing and racing. Lots of certifications. I enjoy navigation, weather and the celestial sphere. I am in the middle of NASA’s efforts to find new planets around other stars and have co-discovered over 200. I’m searching for a Sister Earth. Hit me up for good chat.
NOTE: I am willing to put in real work. I do not need to be entertained nor do I need a particularly nice berth. I have all of my own equipment and will bring charts for whatever location we are sailing. I will be on top of weather changes and weather and tide predictions along proposed passage routes. I am also quite handy and can fix most things that can break. I am not just here for fun, but to execute on what I have learned about navigation and passage making. I am currently finishing up my weather credential and am considering writing a new text book on celestial navigation. I am not a fair weather sailor and can deal with whatever nature sends. I am especially drawn to high latitude sailing.
