Here for a good laugh (and the learn the serious things)

Hello hello hello,

It's me Charlie .. like everyone I come alive when travelling! Im a caring and thoughtful person and I'd say some of the words that best describe the surface of me would be: personable, fun loving, energetic and curious. I like to keep active with things like socialising, swimming, basketball and hiking mountains, where I can I enjoy cooking and trying new things.

I've no experience at sea but really want to learn to sail. I have experience working with trailers on film sets, from that I have picked up little skills like being able to find electrical trips from generators, find leaks in pipes and pumps and make quick fixes to wood or other materials with basic DIY skills. I'm no handyman but I can play around with things for temporary fixes. It’s a job with long hours, not uncommon to do 24 hour shifts and get little sleep, we have to pack down trailers, secure loads to move and set up on the other end before powering up with cables and cleaning all the kit. We’re working away from home all the time, sleeping in small spaces and detailing with customers (the film crew) 24/7. I also have duties such as maintaining water levels for all the trailers, ensuring the generator is always sufficiently fuelled and ensuring we have the right amount of cleaning gear. I think there may be some cross overs with sailing there :) … I hope!

I'm also a decent cook in my own eyes, I have worked in restaurants for 3 years as a waiter, barman, kitchen porter and chef. I have good experiance looking after children and enjoy becoming a somewhat temporary family member with lasting relationships. I have a degree in human biology, im a good swimmer and very eager to learn both new skills or languages and to travel the world.

On a more personal note, im really looking to learn and do some sailing in the future. I dont like to feel useless so I'd prefer to be but to work straight away after being shown how to do things properly and safely, I do really like a good explanation as to why things re done a certain way so I can better understand. I'm a personable person who like to share smiles and laughs with people, I can only imagine what the enviroment of the sea could do to that side of me. I work well in a team to get things done and have lots of fun, I know I’m a hard worker who has a serious professional side that comes out when I feel a calling for it but that’s not what I want to be known for haha.

If you have any role that you wouldnt mind giving me a shot at please give me a message so we can talk. I am interested in leaving my job temporarily for the right position or opportunity for experience.

All the best,

Charlie ☮︎
