Hi!. My name is Raquel López-Varela, from Spain. I live in Alicante. I am a Lawyer who decided to sail and work as a professional stewardess, cook and housekeeper/stew after I worked some seasons in different boats. S/Y&M/Y. After this year of training, hard work and learning I can work as a Deckhand too.
I speak fluent english and I can communicate at a basic level in Italian and Portuguese. My mother tongue is Spanish.
I have STCW-25/95. Seaman’s book, Coastal Skipper and ENG-1.Food Handling certificate Level 2, and Open Waters, also.
I few years ago, I studied a protocol and etiquette course in Madrid
I had a Restaurant in Asilah, Morocco and I learnt to cook in diferents courses in Spain.
My specialties are cooking plates Moroccan , Spanish, Italian, french, and some international meals. Salads, sauces, appetizers, with elaborated cook and good presentation in plates and tables. Cocktails and teas. I cook all kind of fishes and tartare. Cakes and desserts. Paellas and rices.
I also can clean the interior and exterior of the ship in a profesional way, decks, cabins and all dependences, and organize the laundry and do the food shopping for the boat. Polishing and sanding.
I am a hard working, positive, responsible, multitasking and determined individual, team- working person.
After crossing the Atlantic on a catamaran Lagoon 450 (DELIZIA), and sailing and working on different boats in the Caribbean for six months, charters, I was working on a private yacht, Rodman 75, 22 m, all summer season in the Baleares Islands. Mallorca, Menorca, Cabrera, Ibiza and Formentera. My responsibilities were cooking for the owner and guests, serving the table, cleaning the cabins, laundry and serving them. I have a lot of experience, since I have worked on many sailboats and motorboats, too, others summer seasons.
I was also working in Cyprus in a 40m M/Y, Rodman, as a stewardess,deck and, cook and housekeeping before the covid. (4BOYS)
Last year I worked until march in a 38m Maiora, M/Y in the Marina of Alicante, Spain. I was the stewardess and Deckhand of the yacht since May 2020. Cleaning, cooking, organizing and shopping for the boat. Inside/ outside cleaning. Sanding, painting and polishing. Lines and anchoring. I had also worked in others S/Y and M/Y during the summer seasons (2016-2018)
May, June and July 2021, I was working in a Grand Banks 23 m in Mallorca with a German Family. We went to Sardinia, Elba Island and Corsica. Now in Ibiza and Formentera, working in a 28m S/Y. Cooking and cleaning.(DOLPHIN 1953)
I am responsible, happy, fun, active and, above all, I am willing to work on the boat, cook, clean, help with navigation, make guards, mooring, anchoring, docking and whatever is necessary, on board.

I love music, art, adventures, cultures of others places, meet people for others countries , I play guitar and percussion. Todo
I am easygoing and I am always in a great mood. I have initiative and readiness. Energy enough, I practique bodyboard, snorkel, diving, ride, trecking and love to swim.
