Sailenthousiast loving life offshore
Dear Captain,
If you are looking for someone who combines strong sailing skills with great energy on board… you might have just found her.
I’m a Belgian-born sailor (with South African roots) who feels most at home at sea. Over the past years, I’ve sailed the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, bringing my logbook to over 20,000 nautical miles.
My journey took me through the Caribbean (Martinique → Bonaire → Colombia → San Blas → Portobelo) on a Dufour 425 followed by a Pacific crossing from Panama to Fiji aboard a Lagoon 46. I’ve also sailed extensively in the North Sea, participated in regattas, and gained experience through multiple charters in Greece and Croatia.
RYA Competent Crew (Greece, 2020) & Yachtsman (Belgium, 2022).
I’m confident on deck, enjoy rigging & mast work, and take initiative naturally. I’m comfortable with watchkeeping (including night shifts) and remain calm and solution-oriented when things get challenging.
Beyond the technical side, I believe life on a boat should be lived. I bring a warm, connecting presence, a playful spirit and a strong sense of humor. I enjoy creating a great atmosphere on board, where things flow easily and naturally.
I thrive in an active lifestyle: freediving, scuba diving, breathwork, yoga, hiking, playing chess, reading and recently discovered wingfoiling.
And yes… I do enjoy cooking, especially when it becomes part of a shared, relaxed onboard rhythm.
I speak Dutch and Afrikaans as native languages, am fluent in English and French, and have a solid base in German.
I’m currently building a location-independent lifestyle, combining sailing with working online, so a reliable internet connection on board is part of my rhythm.
I’m looking to board a yacht where there is a natural balance between responsibility, freedom and enjoyment, where good energy, respect and playfulness go hand in hand.
If that resonates we will get along very well, both on and in the water.
Fair winds,
Annick
