Looking for a Competent Crew position with a quick learning curve from close to Novice
Hi!
I am looking for a Crew position with a quick learning curve from close to Novice. I did some light sail and wind surf as teen ager for several summers. I then got a Recreational Boat license in Spain (both motor and sailing) at the age of 24, but only practised small motorboats for water ski and recreational purposes.
I am now halfway of a three year sabbatical leave. During the first year I have traveled in my own motorhome from Canada down to Argentina, but the COVID brought as back home a little earlier than expected. I would like to get ready for the next adventure on a sailboat.
I am handy person eager to learn as much as I can. I have done all the upgrades and maintenance to our two motorhomes during the last 10 years (solar, battery charger, additional ventilation), as well a standard engine maintenance. I had my house built to my needs and did myself several activities being the last one being the fitting-up of a 40 sqm space as an apartment installing floor water heating, plasterboard walls and ceiling , tiling, electricity and plumbing.
I have a major in business administration and work (now on sabbatical) for one of the leading IT company, most recently leading the Delivery team doing hardware maintenance 24/7.
I have lived 1,5 years in the US, 2 years in France and 2 years in Ireland. I have done pro-bono consulting in the Philippines and do some voluntary written translations for a children focused NGO
Although I am not a highly outgoing person, I'm looking forward to meeting new people! I loved every place I have visited, but it is always the people side what remains more intensively in my memories.
I have never smoked and will only drink a very ocasional glass of wine during a dinner with other people. I am not picky with the food and have no allergies or special needs.
Looking forward to hearing from you. A bien tôt!
