Looking for a Novice Crew position
Not as salty as I look. Looking to crew and gain experience with my wife Gigi. She and I have owned a 19' West Wight Potter for 2 years and have sailed the Florida Intercoastal Waterway (ICW) frequently. However, we lack experience off-shore. We are looking to gain experience before purchasing our own sailboat. Super easy going and friendly. We strive to get the most out of life and are continuously looking for new adventure. My years of working are over and we yearn to shove off. We have sold our boat and our house. Before we commit to buying a boat, we would like to crew to ensure this is the life we have been searching for. I am a PADI MSDT SCUBA Instructor (Master SCUBA Diver Trainer). I can cook, maintain watch, navigate, use any form of radio communications (HF SSB, and VHF) as well as troubleshoot possible communications problems for any wave length. I spent 23 years in the military and communications was my forte. I can maintain engines and make myself useful with a wrench (though I am not experienced with diesel, I can figure out just about anything mechanical). As a hobby, I used to build and race cars. I have built motors from the ground up.
