I'm a happy self contained camper, with night hours and lone watch experience.
I am a 3* Kayaker, Dinghy owner/sailor and year round Sea Swimmer.
Capable sea cook. I like victualing good quality ingredients. I'm motivated to source local, sustainable, organic and ethical. My best comfort food is veggie/pesce and I have Food Hygiene level 2 certificate.
I was brought up by the beautiful protected waters of the River Clyde, Scotland but as a family we had no resources or inclination for sailing yachts. My hobbies were musical and creative in those early years.
I spent my early adult life in landlocked Oxfordshire immersed in a world of music. I moved to Plymouth UK and found that my passion was not well catered for. If you can't beat them, join them, and so I learnt to sail, now I'm addicted!
I've enjoyed lots of hands on day sails, short trips and several longer passages (logging 6000+ nm) on a variety of boats. I also enjoy messing about on boats helping winterise, taking to survey's, moorings, lift out etc.
I've sailed the English Channel through to Baltic and down to Golfe du Morbihan, Irish sea several times, Bay of Biscay, Straits of Gibralter, west coast of Greece, Canaries to Cabo Verde, Atlantic Ocean to Grenada, West coast of Scotland. I've sailed offshore passages double handed.
