Looking for a sailing adventure, to learn the ropes with good company!
Aloha!
My name is Emily, I am from the UK, currently living in Vanuatu. I am a marine biologist, scuba instructor and freedive instructor. I completed my STCW and short range marine radio courses in Gibraltar, where I lived on boats in the harbour for around a month. I absolutely loved waking up on the water, the boating community, the simple living, putting together a kitty and preparing group meals, and working together as an efficient crew. Now my cravings for sailing have intensified and I'd love to experience life on the open ocean.
I am travelling with my husband, Colin, he is a retired chef turned scuba instructor, who is obsessed with wreck and cave diving. We are happy with basic living, love to cook with ingredients we can locally source and are interested in spearfishing. We are not shy of hard work or getting our hands dirty, and are eager to learn everything from boat maintenance to celestial navigation!
We are ready to go from mid-December from Vanuatu or nearby Pacific islands and are interested in sailing to remote areas around the Pacific. We would love to learn the ropes, help with any maintenance, do the night watches, man the post, and set sails! (I’m out of puns, please help my boat lingo!)
Excited to hear from you!
Best fishes,
Emily
