Looking for a sailing adventure, to learn the ropes with good company!
My name is Emily, I am from the UK, currently living in Hawaii. I am a marine biologist, PADI scuba instructor and am now training to PFI instructor level in freediving. I completed my STCW and short range marine radio courses last November in Gibraltar, where I lived on boats in the harbour for around a month. I absolutely loved waking up on the water, the boating community, the simple living, putting together a kitty and preparing group meals, and working together as an efficient crew. Now my cravings for sailing have intensified and I'd love to experience life on the open ocean.
I will be travelling with my good friend and fellow dive instructor, Cassy, who I lived with in Indonesia. We are very excited to immerse in a fully outdoors lifestyle, we are not shy of hard work or getting our hands dirty, and we are eager to learn everything from boat maintenance to celestial navigation!
We are ready to go from the end of March, we will both have made our way to Florida, Fort Lauderdale, by then. We would love to learn the ropes, help with any maintenance, man the post, climb the mast, set the sails! (I’m out of puns, please help my boat lingo!)
I am also looking to travel cross-Atlantic in May/June time. Any adventurers happy to have an enthusiastic, newbie on board?!
Excited to hear from you!
