A Yachtmaster in the making.
Matt joined me onboard for an extended voyage from Cartagena through the Balearics and then to Sardinia. He had previously extensive dinghy experience and had recently completed the UKSA Superyacht preparatory course and the full STCW package. He was fantastic to have onboard. He is naturally bright, willing and able; good on deck, keen to learn and extend his experience and handy with complementary maintenance and domestic chores. He is a self-starter, full of energy, boat aware and always ready to complete the next task without prompting. He is fun to be with and mixed well with other crew we had onboard for various sections of the trip. He is wind aware, is quick to learn and safe standing a watch by day or night. Although he has an instinctive feel for offshore sailing he is never too proud not to ask or seek advice (or call the skipper) to confirm his intent. I have thoroughly enjoyed sailing with Matt and hope we shall sail together again very soon. I commend him to any skipper and can vouch for his trustworthy and reliable nature and the commitment he makes to his responsibilities as crew. Thank you Matt.
