Novice with some training looking to join Transat
Hello!, Salut ! Que pasa? I'm a fisheries and oceanography scientist living abroad and traveling around the world for the past four years. I'd like to cross back to the Americas without flying to reduce my carbon footprint. I am very flexible with departure location, destination, duration and timing; I will be available as early as late November to start.
I was active in my yacht club during college and since then have done some day sailing. I have basic knowledgr and practice about the workings of a keelboat, piloting upwind, trimming sails, etc and I am good under rough weather, long hours, close quarters and getting along with anyone. My time conducting scientific field work in Alaska and backpacking in South America and Europe has taught me much about resilience, patience, cooperation, and friendship.
So if you are willing to bring aboard a novice crew who promises to be helpful and good company I'm you're man, and let's meet over video chat to talk further. I can pay my share of fuel and food costs, but am not looking to pay for passage on a touristic voyage. Cheers,
-Trevor
