Looking for a Novice Crew or Friendship position
Hey ! My name is Gilles and I'm from Belgium. I am currently flying to French Polynesia, landing in Tahiti on the 10th of June. I've been travelling and working in New Zealand and Australia for a year and I am now looking for my next adventure in the South Pacific! End of August, I'll have to go back to Europe for work. Considering this, I am willing to sail for weeks or even months!
I don't have any particular experience in sailing. To give an idea, the only boats I have sailed are an optimist and a Hobie Cat catamaran when I was younger (sailing courses on the North sea and Mediterranean sea). However, I am eager to learn and I am resourceful.
I currently speak three languages : French, English and Dutch and I am willing to learn any other language (with Spanish at the top position). On the other hand, I have learned a lot during my engineering studies from scientific to technical skills. I have also spent 6 months in Milford Sound, NZ working on a 60 pax cruising boat in a 200-people village far from everything. All in all, I think I have what it takes to become a reliable crew member!
