Looking for a captain or first mate position from late july 25

ENG1 and Yachtmaster offshore commercially endorsed and up-to-date. Available for short term assignment in Europe, or long term assignments anywhere from late July, I can sail as skipper, first mate, cook (vegetarian only) or just competent crew. I may be OK with a voluntary position if I like the project and the people involved, but I would normally expect to be paid.
I'm a former yacht master instructor and professional skipper and have sailed over 50 000 miles, including a number of transatlantic crossings (one of them single-handed).
I'm perfectly bilingual in French and English, and I speak some Spanish.
I'm very adaptable, kind and easy going, but I will not sail with smokers or heavy drinkers.
Being a father of two (now grown up) I'm fine with kids.

Q: What is your favourite boat and why? The one I'm on. The other ones are just memories or fantasies

Q: What’s your favourite boating experience? sailing offshore with a fair wind. Give me the tradewinds anytime.

Q: Where’s your favourite boating destination? West of Ireland: uncrowded, beautiful, well sheltered anchorages, and friendly local. Usually plenty of wind for sailing.

Q: What is the longest passage you’ve completed without stops? Distance: Guadeloupe to Terceira (Azores), 2 handed with my then 16 years old son on a 42 foot catamaran (2900 miles) Time: Guadeloupe to Horta (Azores) Single handed on a 35 foot sloop (23 days)

Q: Gin and Tonic in a beautiful anchorage or trimming the sails to get an extra half knot? The extra speed. I'm not a racer, but I like sailing well . Besides, I rarely drink and certainly not G&T.

Q: What’s your worst boating experience? Sailing through thunderstorms on a single-handed passage from the Canaries to the Azores. Thunder and lighting all around the boat. It was like being on a battlefield, not knowing if the next hit is going to be for you. And the wind was all over the place.
