Looking for a Novice Crew, Deckhand, Steward(ess) or Head Housekeeper position

- I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Novice Crew, Deckhand, Steward(ess) or Head Housekeeper. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people! I've sailed the Caribbean from Tortola St Thomas all the way down to Grenada and everything in between I've got people in Dominica, Grenada , Tortola, Hawaii , Sydney Australia. I worked on tug boats in the San Francisco Bay on the Bay Bridge retrofit and also dredging the salt marshes working barges. I was in the merch Marines as a steward and sometimes I would substitute as a deckhand as often as the opportunity would present itself. The ship I worked on was the UST Pacific it was an ultra large crew carrier I was in the Persian Gulf went over to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore Egypt also that's where I got off the ship. When I was sailing in the Caribbean it was on my dad's 75 ft motor sailor ketch design the Mizar. She was a very beautiful boat very special built in Italy in 65 all wood I did lots of maintenance working for my pop I was one of the crew members . I'm an avid bicyclist and paddle boarder I live in Carmichael California which is a suburb of Sacramento I've been here 20 years needless to say I'm looking to get out before it gets to be too late I'm 53 years old still in great shape single and wanting to Adventure for a year or so I'm looking to rent my house out while I'm gone but I want to work and make a little bit of money while I'm away just enough to live on I don't have any bills to speak of outside of basic living cost food and lodging. I'm very active and can get around on a sailboat pretty well I'm not afraid of heights or high seas I still have a sense of adventure I am mostly vegetarian I don't have a car by choice. I'm currently in between jobs so now is the time to grab me up if you need crew. I'm very clean and organized I carry minimal baggage I don't want to sail in cold places. I'm a certified scuba diver and an excellent swimmer I've been trained in shipboard firefighting, first aid and CPR I know my way around a galley and a deck I know how to clean. I can pass a background and drug test. This was kind of a whim as I'm reading Treasure Island and another sailing book called The Yarn of a buckle mate. I've pretty much given off of TV as there's nothing good on anymore and it's just not good for the brain. I prefer to read now I usually have two books going sometimes three . I'm not computer literate I can barely navigate my smartphone. After the merchant marines I went to work as a bread Baker in Berkeley California at Acme bread. I did that for 4 years from 1994 to 1998 then I got into Construction for 4 years then went to work for West Star tugboat company in San Francisco and worked on the Bay Bridge retrofit and also moving barges around dredging the channels to get to the Salt fields. I'm willing to go anywhere tropical I need to get my passport so I will need time to get my Affairs in order I'd like to leave in the spring. I can see myself knocking around for a year maybe more I'm open to adventure see where it takes me. To sum it up I'm a good hand and I work well with others I'm hoping to make some lifelong friendships and hoping to connect with people I haven't seen in many years if we visit the islands of the Caribbean or West Indies
