Looking to start my career as a junior deckhand
Having lived by the sea and countryside my whole life, I’ve always had a passion for appreciating the outside and nature around me, to make the most of this I try and use my push bike as much as possible, which became a large part of my life during the Covid-19 Lockdown. Since a young age swimming has always been a big part of my life, this started as basic swimming lessons and competitions but has now turned to a lot of open water swimming in both lakes and the sea in the summer times. Starting to swim in open waters has also led me to try scuba diving where I can when on vacation, planning to hopefully complete and gain my PADI certificate. My friend’s family also owns a small fishing vessel, which we often take out into the Thames estuary for the day, this has been a great introduction into fishing and is something that I would enjoy to carry further whether this is within my career or spare time. I'm looking for a yacht/crew willing to take on a green junior deckhand with longevity in mind, here I'd ideally be able to sharpen my skills as a deckhand and be trained up within the role learning on the job. Having gone into previous jobs with little experience in the roles, I've picked up the ability to quickly learn on the job and understand the importance of asking questions whenever I feel unsure on something.
