Skipper of a Sailing Yacht

I am an experienced race/delivery sailor who has skippered and navigated yachts all around the world. I am Commercially Endorsed Yacht Master Offshore with Cruising Instructor Endorsement. STCW95, AEC. With Ocean Shorebased.

I am currently based in Hamble and looking for work both locally and internationally. I was the logistics part of a team that looked after the RP63 Lucky and involves getting the boat to the major offshore races around the world and then preparing the yacht for the race and racing. This also involves supervising refits in the UK, San Diego and the Philippines.

I have also worked selling sails for Ullman Sails UK and a currently consult on Carbon Batten design and fitting. This involves meeting clients on various vessels and finding out their needs and providing a solution. After we have provided the sails/battens I would go out on the various vessels to complete the task for setting up the boat. I also sail on customer’s boat on a variety of regattas all over Europe.

I have been racing in the UK for over 15 years and currently sail a dinghy (B14 at World, European and Nationals level)
I race a regularly with the Mumm 36 Alice and competed in the Commodores Cup 2016.
Events Competes in.
Fast 40+ on Rebellion 2015 before that Farr 45 regularly on Rebel, Werewolf.
10 Round the Island Races on J boats, Farr 45, Class 40 (current Class 40 champion and record holder) Open 60, Sydney 38.
7 J Cups on J80's to J133's
Dartmouth Regatta over 6 times on J92, Farr 280 to a Farr 45.
Swan Worlds on a Swan 651 (Gaetana) with an overall 3rd in Sardinia in 2012.
Naples tre Golfi Regatta in 2013. Swan 651, Gaetana
RORC races over a period of 11 years on various Fastnet and customer campaigns.
Including Round Ireland Race (2nd Class 1, 6th Overall, Boat Captain) 2014 (Phosphorus)
Corporate entertainment J111 match racing for Carbon Yachting Ltd. (Skipper)
Summer sailing in Sweden coaching and Skippering a Mumm 36. Inc.Gotland Runt inshore, Lindingo Runt, Grand Prix Regatta, Nynisham Pursuit, Sandhamn Open.

I have also done many deliveries including 1 Pacific and 5 Atlantic crossings, (4 west and 1 east). Currently I have sailed over 70000 miles.

I have been with Team Lucky Sailing (RP63 and TP52) for 5 years now and have been Navigator for all of the boat deliveries. (35000 miles).

These include; Malta to Valencia, Valencia to St Tropez, Genoa to Valencia, Valencia to Cascais, Valencia to Tenerife, Tenerife to Antigua, Antigua to Miami, Jamaica to Panama via Canal, Panama to San Diego, Hawaii to Phillipines via Guam, Philippines to HK, Vietnam to Philippines, Philippines to HK, HK to Philippines, Antigua to Miami, Miami to Baltimore.

Races: Fastnet, Copa Del Ray, Giralgia, Middle Sea Race (1st IRC Overall), RORC 600 (5th IRC Overall), Pineapple Cup (4th IRC Overall), Transpac (4th Class 1, 7th Overall), Vietnam Race (1st Overall), China Sea Race (2nd Overall). Annapolis to Newport Race (line Honours), Transatlantic Race, (Line Honours and 1st IRC Overall).
We have guest aboard for many of the races and we have to coach and mentor them in the 1 to 2 days training that we have before races. Many of these people haven’t sailed on a mini maxi race boat or even raced.
