Help me to realize my sustainable trip from Europe to South-East Asia - Looking for boat from India to South-East Asia
After graduating and getting some experience of NGOs as well as community life, I am taking two years off to travel. My plan is to travel from Europe to the Philippines by land and sea.
I've made it to India but because of the civil war in Myanmar I am stuck. I didn't so far have the privilege to learn how to sail but I am very curious and always enthusiastic to learn new stuff. Besides I know how to cook and I don't shy away from any kind of tasks.
The motivations behind my journey are:
- to return to a place where I spent amazing 6 months and reconnect with people whom I cherish;
- to live the connection between Europe and South-East Asia by slowly experiencing the changes in culture/climate/landscape;
- and to travel in a sustainable way.
As I studied and volunteered abroad for half of my life, I really encountered different cultures, communicated in different languages and shared with others. These experiences enriched my way of seeing things, being tolerant and trying to understand other points of view.
My interests:
Traveling - Because it teaches me humility and open-mindedness
Cooking - Preferably vegetarian (for the sake of ecological justice I stopped eating meat and fish 7 years ago)
Nature - it's beauty leaves me in awe
Hiking - the pace I like in my holidays and the simplicity to live on what you carry
Cycling - everyday life
Swimming - already the feeling of diving into the water, being totally immersed and cut-off from the outside thoughts and worries
Various types of music with a preference for Indie rock and some kinds of instrumental music
Reading - free-time for my mind and feeding my curiosity
During moments where there is no task, I like to take time to meditate, write my newsletters for family & friends or listen to music.
After some time in India I realised that I am not a city person, I am looking forward to get out of the business, noise and crowd.
I was a scout during 10 years and when sitting around the campfire we compared it to the television. I imagine something similar for sailing, when one lets go of all the thoughts one can admire the sea for hours without talking.
