This trip started on 3th of June 2025 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. I have moved this boat from Netherlands to France and Spain with different crew on board.
Previous boats:
My last ocean sailing(October 2024) was crossing the Bay of Biscay(from Brest, France to Gijon, Spain) on a 42-foot sailboard (with one other person on board).
Before that, I was sailing from La Coruna, Spain to Gibraltar (September 2024). It is on the Atlantic coast of Spain and Portugal. It was on a 69-foot ketch. My last Mediterranean Sea sailing was a week sailing in Greece as captain(2025). It was on a 44-foot sailing boat. Other Mediterranean Sea experience from Napoli, Italy to Nice, France(May 2024). We visited Corsica and Sardinia on the way. It was on a 42-foot racing sailing boat.
I have one Atlantic crossing on a ship. I have been living and sailing on a 60-foot steel cutter for one month(Caribbean). I was island-hopping trip around Saint Lucia, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tobago Cays and Trinidad.

2Awesome experience
Ivan is a patient and calm captain , he navigates an old but nice and functional boat. He has the necessary skills to teach you nodes, manoeuvres, and generally sailing. I spent 8 days in his crew and it was a wonderful time , we went through very nice days of navigation. Ivan is a really honest and nice person and I can only recommend to navigate with him! Thanks again captain ! See you around the world maybe in South America ?

My First Sail and It Won’t Be My Last! Falling in Love with Sailing, Thanks to Ivan.
I had the joy of sailing with Captain Ivan for three days as part of his crew, and it completely changed how I feel about the sea. He’s not only a skilled and knowledgeable captain, but also deeply passionate about sailing—his love for the ocean is contagious. Ivan is kind, honest, and friendly, and he always made me feel like his boat was my home. As someone from Hong Kong, I’ve never had much access to sailing, but thanks to Ivan, I’ve truly fallen in love with it. Wishing him and his partner many wonderful adventures ahead. I hope our paths cross again—maybe on the ocean, or even in Hong Kong one day! Check out his sailing stories on YouTube: @ivanlodkaran
