Looking to join a sailboat as crew in Nuku Hiva / Tuamotos to Tahiti (and possibly further)
Hi! I’m currently in French Polynesia looking to join a sailboat as crew going from Nuku Hiva or Tuamotos to Tahiti (and possibly further to Fiji, New Zealand). I just crossed the Pacific through the Panama Canal from Bahamas and had an amazing experience. My friend is leaving the boat we are currently on in Nuku Hiva, and I need to get to Tahiti by July 9th to meet my mom who is flying in to visit me. I know fixed plans are not ideal for sailing, so hopefully I can find a boat that has already planned on arriving to Tahiti before the 9th (but not too much sooner as I would also love to explore Tuamotos on the way).
About me:
I was born in the beautiful country of Belize, boating and adventuring remote islands in the Caribbean. I moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL when I was 10, and went to Penn State for my Bachelor’s of Science in Energy Engineering (a degree I chose since I care for sustainability, and enjoy solving problems). I’m 22 now and although I’ve tried starting my career here in America, something inside me is strongly resistant. I love solo travel and want to understand the different cultures this world has to offer before I settle down into one. I began sailing from Fort Lauderdale in January of this year and have absolutely fallen in love with the life. I was on a Catalina 42 monohull cruising around Bahamas for 2 months and decided I wanted a bigger challenge, so I joined a Catana 50 catamaran to cross the Pacific. I really enjoy sailing and the problem solving aspect, and would like to keep improving my skills. Of course, I also love the ocean, swimming with all marine life, surfing (or attempting) and exploring islands, hiking and learning about the different cultures.
