Short notice board - for learning and a good time!
Hi - I’m looking for a trip of 2-3 weeks to further improve my sailing skills, have a good time and meet new people before I start my job as a just graduated Medical Doctor. I have experience as a Watchleader on the Tallship Atyla (3 months), recreational on some smaller yachts in the Netherlands, and in teaching children how to sail (>10 years).
A friend of mine, who also just graduated as MD and has experience in sailing skiffs competitively, is also eager to join (I will provide his details as well, if you are interested).

Hi! I’m Katinka—enthusiastic, curious, and a team player. I love traveling, meeting new people, learning new skills and sharing experiences. Passionate about sports like sailing, running, hiking, yoga, and boxing, I also enjoy collaborating to organize events and improve education. During my studies, I served on the board of the medical faculty’s study association and was a member of the Faculty Student Council. As a part of my medical studies, I recently did a 2.5-month internship in Tanzania, after which I traveled solo through Tanzania and Malawi. Before starting as an MD in the Netherlands, I’m excited to embark on a sailing adventure, connect with like-minded people, and grow both personally and as a sailor.
SAILING EXPERIENCES
I started sailing on Dutch inland waters as a child and began teaching at 15, instructing all ages in boats from Optimists to Valk. For years, I worked at sailing school De Duikelaar, mastering the basics, sharing my passion, and having a lot of fun. In 2021, I tried offshore sailing with the Tall Ships Races, then returned in 2022 as a Watchleader on the topsail schooner Atyla. There, I coached participants, led watches, and handled ship duties—deepening my sailing, coaching, and personal growth. I especially loved the sunrise- and sunset watches, climbing the mast, and connecting with people from all over the world. After this, I’ve joined occasional yacht and tall ship trips. Before starting my medical career, I aim to refine my skills, share my knowledge, and work toward my RYA Yachtmaster Coastal certification. For me, most important values on a ship are an open atmosphere, trust, teamwork, and fun!
