Looking for a Novice Crew position sailing California/Oregon to Hawaii
My friend, Captain Reed, grew up sailing in San Francisco bay. In 2012 he bought a 25’ McGregor and I became his first mate. Every week for 10 summers he taught me to sail on Fern Ridge Reservoir near Eugene, Oregon. We also took the boat on three trips to the San Juan Islands and one up the Columbia River. In 2022 my wife and I bought the boat from Reed and I have been captain since. In 2024 we took the boat out over the bar in Newport, Oregon for several daysails in the Pacific.
I have worked as a wilderness guide for at-risk youth where I learned how to work as a team in challenging environments and the value of leadership, hard work, humor, and adventure. I currently work as an outdoor school instructor teaching subjects such as shelter, fire, foraging, navigation, archery, and wildlife to Oregon school children.
