Looking for a 1st Engineer or Voluntary work position
Hi, I am a 32 year old marine engineer. I've been working in my profession for the last 10 years (mainly motor vessels up to 200m LOA and power up to 22000kW). The last 4 years I've been supporting the civil search and rescue fleet in the central med. sea. in the position of an engineer and part of our RHIB teams (motor vessels 55m-60m LOA and up to 3000kW). I also did a lot of maintenance on our FRCs and RHIBs (5-8 m, inboard engines, Volvo Penta, with duo prop/ jet drive and a few outboard engines too). I am used to live in mixed and multicultural crews and I know pretty well life on board with little privacy. I speak German and English and learning Spanish at the moment. I can do engineering work and fix things. I have experience with reverse osmosis systems. But I also can do other tasks like cooking/ cleaning/ entertaining kids etc..and I hope that I will learn enough to support you in (night) watches etc. I do not have a lot of wind sailing experience or knowledge about navigation but I am highly motivated to change that and I am a quick learner. I do a lot of sports and love stuff like hiking, motorbikes, reading books and traveling. I am looking to join a boat to do an east- west Atlantic crossing this winter (2025). I am available from November on and I am very flexible within anywhere in Europe to join a crew. I'd like to reach Panama or Mexico as my final destination, but anywhere in the Caribbean would be amazing. I'd prefer a FLINTA*crew or a family that is looking for some extra hands on board but as long as the vibes are positive and without discriminational behaviour I am happy with that. I will be in Gran Canaria from the 22nd of November :) fair winds to all of you! Carlotta
