North Queensland, heading towards warm water
Well, looks like 2020 sailing outside Aus is not going to happen.
At the moment I'm at anchor on a reef with a sand cay of Cairns, only person out here. Keep in touch will update if anything change
Looking forward to sail/dive north and south from Cairns.
This summer have been great sailing weather, light winds , sun and only little rain on the water in North Queensland. Water is 29c but will rise to 30 over summer.
Easy sailing, clean water, just need to catch some fish
This is not a tourist sailing trip. I live onboard year round. Might even do some maintenance, while on anchor.
Costs is just share food. No marina fees
WITH THE VIRUS KEEPING OS IN AUSTRALIA IT WILL BE INTERESTINGLY TO SEE WHEN WE CAN DEPARTURE Aus.
Yacht Seagoon, Roberts 38 Offshore. Been sailing SP since 1993, 7 years ago I started this little volunteer project in Louiseade Archepilago, PNG. Installing solar system for people to have lights in small village.
Late July early August, or when the hardstanding have room to paint new Antifauling, I'll be heading north along The Ribbon Reefs, one of the best dive sites in Qld. We'll be going as far as Lizard island, the best anchorage in Aus. When the SE trade winds turn or slow down I'll be going south again.
If you like to learn sailing , sail handling, navigation, and not just like to sit in the sun, come along
